Syringe Filters, PTFE (Teflon) Non-Sterile and Sterile
Overview
European manufactured PTFE (Teflon) syringe filters have a hydrophobic nature and very high chemical resistance. As a result these syringe filters not compatible with aqueous samples. If it is a gas that is being filtered, the kind of membrane to use must be PTFE. Because of the chemical resistance it is the membrane of choice for applications that include esterification of air or gas samples, HPLC solvents, filtration of aggressive solvents, sampling of aerosols, venting air, or protecting vacuum pumps.
Available in pore sizes 0.20µm and 13 or 25mm diameters, or 0.45 µm and 4, 15 or 25 mm diameters. with maximum pressure of 6 hPa, and maximum operating temperature of 127ºC.
Additional 0.10 and 1.0 µm pore sizes can be found among the Whatman PTFE syringe filters available from Rose Scientific.
